As the use of digital audio and video is increasing so also is the need for a large scale database support of these new data types grow ing Users want to share audio and video information and will like to use the same video information in several di erent presentations To support video information sharing and reuse an architecture of video information and its contents is proposed Three levels are de ned The presentation level consists of edited video presentations the recording level consists of the basic recordings used in the di erent presentations and the an notation level consists of descriptions of the contents of the individual recordings The architecture will support applications in both creating and running a presentation as well as in annotating and retrieving video information
